In case if you introduce any changes into the contract (replacement of yacht, fix a different date for charter and so on) by agreement of the parties, the penalty may be evaded. In case if the contract is terminated on your initiative, subject to the time left before the beginning of charter period and conditions of yacht rental you will have to pay a forfeit in the amount, which is specified in the contract.
In case of bareboat yacht rental, you will have to pay a breakage deposit for yacht (insurance deposit). It is related to minor damages, because more severe damages are covered by insurance. The sum of returnable deposit may vary from 1200 to 3000 euros, depending on the yacht class. Upon termination of the charter period, the deposit is paid back to you in full or partially (after deduction of damages cost). There is also nonreturnable deposit, which usually amounts to 300 – 500 euros, although we wouldn’t like to recommend it to you.
The period of yacht rental usually starts on Saturday at 17:00 and ends on the next Saturday at 9:00. So it is strongly advised to return to the port of discharge the night before, since it takes no less then a couple of hours to accept the yacht (check the availability of equipment and its condition). Other conditions for acceptance/delivery of yacht are possible by advance agreement. In case of skippered or crew yacht rental, the procedure of yacht checking will require less time and efforts from you.
Apart from this, in case of crew yacht rental you will be offered a half board (HB) or full board (FB). Also you could use the APA system (Advanced Provisioning Allowance). APA – is a sum of money, which is needed to cover extra charges (meals, fuel and other amusements). As a rule, the APA is given to the captain of vessel before the voyage. Thus, you shift all organizational issues, including the purchase of foodstuffs, to the crew. The expense reports may be rendered to you every day or at the end of the charter period.
