Many celebrities, such as Madonna, Nicholas Cage, Mick Jagger and other fans of corking parties are of the same mind. Mykonos – is the youth of Greece, it’s an island of everlasting fun, amusement, celebrations, a quintessence of vividness and originality!
Mykonos – is one of the most famous and picturesque islands in Greece, situated in the core of the Cyclades. Everything about this wonderful island reminds you of colorful postcard: tiny and neat white houses with dazzling blue shutters, decorated with flowers; an ensemble of little churches and chapels; lanes covered with hand-painted fanciful drawings; limed roadways; windmills; and a great variety of traditional, distinctively Greek taverns bordering on fashionable & stylish restaurants, cafés, bars and nightclubs, where DJs from all over the world perform their sets.
Let’s also bear in mind a great variety of marvellous beaches: Aios Stephanos, Platis Gialos, Kalafatis, Elia, Ornos, Panormos, Psarou, Super Paradise, Paradise. The last one is probably the most well-known and popular one. It is a vast and extremely beautiful beach with lots of beach bars, where time spins away under tactful bartender’s care, and where you’ll be sure to relax and have a good time!
Mykonos has a lot to offer for those having an eye for interesting places and sights. There is a white bulky building at the rising ground – a famous complex, consisting of 5 little churches coalescing into harmonious unity, dedicated to Virgin Mary. This is Paraportiani – a marvellous masterpiece of the Cyclades architecture, which was being built for centuries and announced to be the national monument. Another places of interest in Mykonos are rather vivid, many-coloured medieval houses, standing right by the water, close to each other, and forming a protective wall from the west side of the town. It is one of the most colourful and frequently photographed sites of the island – "Little Venice" or "Venetia".
The island also has one interesting peculiarity: straight in the centre of the town one can easily come across a few charming, idly walking pelicans – favorites of the public.
Mykonos – is the sole choice for those, who dream of plunging into a stormy twenty-four-hour social life. But fans of solitary vacations will also like it there – a good many quiet nooks are hidden on the island from the public eye.
